MAIN CAMERA SETUP

A collection of the camera and lenses that I currently use for all of my filmmaking and photography needs.

SONY A6500 CAMERA BODY

This is easily the best “bang for your buck” camera I’ve purchased to date. It is the camera I use for all of my YouTube videos. The autofocus and image quality of this Sony camera speaks for itself. 4K 100Mbps, 1080 120FPS 100Mbps, Continuous Autofocus, numerous helpful memory settings, I mean the list goes on and on for why I love this camera so much and why I highly recommend it.

SIGMA 30MM F/1.4 DC DN LENS

If there’s one lens in particular that you should grab for the Sony a6500, this is it. This lens is AMAZING for the price. The image is sharp throughout the entire frame, the wide aperture allows for some beautiful depth of field and bokeh, and the focal length makes this one of the most versatile lenses available. I use it for my cinematic vlogs AND regular sit-down videos.

SIGMA 16MM F/1.4 DC DN LENS

This lens is increasingly becoming my go-to wide angle lens for nearly every filming scenario. We get the beautiful sharp image throughout the entire frame, just like we get on the Sigma 30mm f1.4 DC DN lens, but with a shorter focal length for a wider field of view and an impressive f/1.4 wide aperture for great low-light performance. With phenomenal autofocus to further solidify my love for this lens, it’s undoubtedly a must-have.

SONY 90MM F/2.8 MACRO G OSS LENS

Macro lenses are ridiculously underrated, and this Sony macro lens is no exception. This is the lens I use for ALL of the macro b-roll shots you see in product reviews on my YouTube channel and I absolutely love it. It can be used as a macro lens or a telephoto lens and with the stellar image quality, autofocus, and ridiculously low minimal focal distance that this lens provides, I can’t say enough good things about this lens and how helpful it can be in taking your photography and filmmaking to the next level.

SONY 10-18MM F/4 OSS LENS

It’s usually a toss-up between using this wide-angle lens and the Sigma 16mm f/1.4. Although this lens has a little vignetting and barrel distortion, sometimes I need a very wide angle of view for filming, in which case the ultra wide 10-18mm zoom focal lengths come in handy. This is the lens I use to film every single one of my “studio setup” videos.
